2.21 - I received an email saying someone else wants to buy another version of my domain. Should I be worried?

As a website owner, you have to decide how important it is to you to register your domain in a variety of TLDs/ccTLDs.

Some people have only one domain name, but sometimes people choose to purchase the other TLD versions of their domain in order to ensure that nobody else can do so. Because of the huge number of TLDs (over two hundred) it is very unlikely that one could purchase all the possible variations on a domain name.

Many people choose to purchase country-specific domain types like .ca or .us if they do a lot of business in that country, or if their website is about that country.

You can log into the domain control panel to update the
registration information. Internet Names for Business uses three different
wholesale registration providers, so first you need to know which one your
domain is registered through. To find out, please go to CentralOps (select "Domain Dossier") and
look up your domain name. Remember, don’t put the “www”, but do put the
extension (e.g. “.com”).

If your domain is with Tucows, you will use the OpenSRS interface. If your domain
is with Register.com, you will use the Register.com
interface. If your domain is with eNom, you will use the eNom interface. Please note that
Register.com and eNom domains will use your web hosting account password, while
OpenSRS domains have their own separate username and password.
